. >> a d.c. man is claiming he was offered a bribe, a bribe -- a job with the fenty campaign. >> sam ford first broke the story at 5:00 and he has details that every d.c. voter needs to see tonight. >> the 19-year-old man said that fenty had lawyers brought him and other young people to the board of elections and told them to vote for mayor fenty and it would get jobs with the fenty campaign at paying them $100 per day. today he called up and complained that they were duped. we confronted the kennedy campaign spokesman with the story -- the fenty campaign spokesman with the story. >> there was a misunderstanding. >> since early voting began, the fenty campaign has brought the vans full of early voters to the board of elections. this 19-wuerl says he was duped. -- this 19-year-old said he was duped. he was among a group of young people in front of his building on north capitol last thursday when it is fenty van pulled up, promising jobs if they voted for the mayor. he says he registered, voted for mayor fenty, returned to the building, and never heard about the job. he produced the number

.c. mayor. the poll shows gray ahead of fenty by 7 points, which makes the next few days more crucial for both candidates. roby chavez is live. >> reporter: the poll is important for a number of reasons, mainly it shows the lead by vincent gray has grown over the last three weeks since the last poll was taken. it also shows if there's a high black voter turnout, fenty could lose this election. even so, both candidates are still fighting hard. the latest poll is more good news for vincent gray, whose lead has grown since august in the latest poll. it is the third poll in a week to put gray on top, but there is still no clear-cut winner. >> it's clear that we are -- our message is getting out across the city, that people are supporting us. the other message is for those who are working on our campaign, and that is keep working hard. >> reporter: adrian fenty did not make himself available for an interview tonight but issued a statement saying, quote, the only numbers that matter is the count when the polls close on election day. we are out on door steps every day getting our message out

to the polls t get the ballots in the mayoral democratic primary. mayor adrian fenty is locked in a heated battle with vincent gray. news 4's megan mcgrath is live at the bell multicultural high school where residents will begin voting in less than an hour now. good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning. very quiet right now. in about an hour the doors open at all the polling places across d.c. 22,000 people have already cast ballots in early voting. thousands more are expected to vote toda adrian fenty, who so decisively won his first term, is now battling for reelection. his opponent, gray, hoping to unsat him. mayor adrian fenty attended a rally in southeast on monday, fighting an uphill battle in most polls, fenty is pointing to his record and promise to go change his leadership style if re-elected. >> i think what you're seeing from all eight wards, people understand way more good has happened in the city than bad. we'll learn from whatever mistakes we made to do a better job nexttime. >> reporter: it has been a heated campaign. gray believes he has won over many voters and is n b
